Required Documents for Malaysia Student eVisa

Visa Approval Letter (eVAL): You must obtain this from the relevant government authority in Malaysia.

Malaysia Student eVisa Processing Time

Important Notes:

  • If someone applies after 12:00 PM Malaysian time, processing will start the next working day.

Validity of the Malaysian Student eVisa

The Malaysian student eVisa is valid for 90 days from the date it is issued. Students must enter Malaysia within this period. Once they arrive, they can stay for up to 30 days.

Typically, the eVisa is a Single Entry Visa. This means, that once students leave Malaysia, they cannot use the same visa again, even if their stay is less than 30 days.

Students who have applied for a Malaysia eVISA can quickly check their application status.

  1. Have your reference number ready. It usually looks like this: KV00000001MY.
  2. Visit the eVISA Status link on our website.
  3. Enter your Unique Application Reference number in the search box.
  4. Click submit to see your eVISA application status.


If someone loses their reference number, they cannot check the status online. In that case, it is best to contact our customer support for assistance.

What should I do if my visa is denied?

Malaysia approves around 90% of student visa applications. However, some get denied. Common reasons include misinformation or insufficient funds. If your application is denied, contact our customer service team.

As of May 1, 2022, fully vaccinated students can enter Malaysia without quarantining. They do not need a COVID-19 test before leaving or upon arrival.
