Healthcare Traveler: A non-Malaysian individual traveling to Malaysia for medical treatment.
Malaysia Healthcare Travel Council (MHTC): A government agency promoting and supporting the healthcare travel industry in Malaysia under the brand “Malaysia Healthcare.”
MHTC Member: Private healthcare providers (hospitals, clinics, and dental services) registered under MHTC’s membership program.
Embassy/Consulate: Malaysia’s official diplomatic offices abroad.
MYVISA: The entity appointed by the Malaysian Government to manage the eVISA system and provide support services for medical visa applications.
Visa Fee: The fee paid to the Malaysian Government for a visa.
eVISA Processing Fee: The charge for processing a visa application. This does not include any additional services.
eVISA Convenience Fee: An extra fee for additional services that make the application process more convenient.
Receipt: A document confirming the submission of an eVISA application and payment of the necessary fees.
General
Requirement: Applicants can only apply for a Medical eVISA if they are receiving treatment from a member of the Malaysia Healthcare Travel Council (MHTC). An appointment letter from MHTC member and a support letter provided by them are required.
Validity: The Medical eVISA is valid for a single entry into Malaysia within 3 months of issuance. The applicant’s passport must remain valid during this period.
Legal Compliance: Any applicant who violates Malaysian laws may face legal consequences. Employment, school attendance, or representing foreign media during the stay in Malaysia is strictly prohibited.
Required Documents at Immigration: Applicants must present the following documents to the Immigration Officer at the entry or exit points:
A valid passport with at least six months of validity.
A copy of the Medical eVISA.
The hospital appointment letter from the MHTC member.
The MHTC support letter.
Companion details (if applicable). A maximum of two adult companions is allowed, who can be:
Husband or wife
Parent
Son or daughter
Grandparent
Sibling
Maid or nurse
Process: Each Medical eVISA application is reviewed individually. The Embassy / Consulate may request additional information during the process. Applying does not guarantee the approval of the eVISA. The Embassy or Consulate reserves the right to refuse any application without explanation. Applicants must ensure they have a valid Medical eVISA before traveling to Malaysia.
Documentation: All uploaded documents, including passport photos, biodata pages, hospital appointment letters, and other supporting materials, must be clear and legible. Blurry or unreadable documents may lead to the rejection of the eVISA application or denial of entry into Malaysia.
Processing Time: After submitting the eVISA for Medical application, applicants will get an email within 2 working days. This period includes only working days. It does not count weekends, public holidays, or holidays in Malaysia. The Immigration Attaché decides on the approval.
Delays: The processing time may be delayed due to unexpected events. This includes system maintenance, Internet issues, network failures, or power outages.
Decision Notification: Applicants will receive an email with one of these outcomes:
Approved: The application is granted.
Rejected: The application is declined.
Request for Document: Upload specific documents requested by the Embassy or Consulate.
Request for Interview: Attend an interview at the Embassy or Consulate.
Document Requests: If additional documents are needed, upload them immediately. The processing time resets to 2 working days once documents are uploaded. The Embassy or Consulate can request documents multiple times.
Interview Requests: If an interview is required, attend on the scheduled date and time. This is necessary for the application to proceed.
Entry into Malaysia: Approval of the eVISA for Medical does not guarantee entry into Malaysia. The Immigration Officer at the entry point makes the final decision. If entry is denied, MYVISA is not liable.
Acknowledgment: Applicants understand that MYVISA, MHTC, and MHTC members do not assess or decide on visa applications. The Embassies and Consulates have the authority to issue or deny the eVISA for Medical. They also decide on the visa’s validity, stay duration, and number of entries based on Malaysia’s laws.
Payment of Fees: Applicants must pay all fees to MYVISA. This applies regardless of the application’s outcome.
Timely Applications: Applicants should submit their eVISA applications before traveling to Malaysia. MYVISA, MHTC, and MHTC members are not responsible for any travel delays due to late applications.
Inquiry Process: Inquiries to MYVISA, MHTC, or MHTC members are based on the applicant’s questions and shared information. This assistance does not guarantee visa approval. MYVISA, MHTC, and MHTC members are not liable for any outcomes.
Accuracy of Information: Applicants agree that errors in the information may lead to rejection. If rejected, the applicant must submit a new application.
Liability Limitations: MYVISA, MHTC, and MHTC members are not liable for indirect or incidental damages. This includes losses related to the application process or any provided services.
Applications for Minors: Applicants under 12 years old must apply with a parent. They need to submit a Birth Certificate or Household Book to prove their relationship.
Changes by the Government: The Government of Malaysia can change or cancel these terms at any time. No prior notice is required. If an applicant disagrees with the changes, they must refuse the services.
Applicant Agreement: Applicants confirm that they have read and understood these terms. They agree to these terms before submitting their visa application.
