Definitions

  1. Embassy/Consulate: Refers to the High Commission, Embassy, or Consulate General of Malaysia.
  2. MYVISA: The appointed entity by the Malaysian Government to handle the eVISA system, infrastructure, and support services for visa applications.
  3. Applicant: Any person submitting a Malaysia eVISA application to the Embassy or Consulate.
  4. Immigration Officer: The official from the Immigration Department of Malaysia.
  5. Visa Fee: The fee charged by the Government of Malaysia, collected by MYVISA, based on the Fees (Passport and Visas) Order 1967.
  6. eVISA Processing Fee: The fee charged for processing the eVISA application.
  7. eVISA Convenience Fee: Charges for services that offer convenience to the applicant, separate from processing fees.
  8. Receipt: The document confirming an eVISA application has been submitted and payment made.

General

  1. An eVISA is required for 34 nationalities for a single journey to Malaysia, subject to eligibility. Tourists from China and India can visit Malaysia without a visa for up to 30 days between December 1, 2023, and 31, December 2024.
  2. There are two types of tourist eVISAs:
    • Single Entry Visa (SEV): Valid for a single journey to Malaysia for specific nationalities.

    • Multiple Entry Visa (MEV): Valid for multiple entries, with a maximum stay of 30-days per entry, for all nationalities except Israel and North Korea.

  3. Student eVISA is valid for students from countries that require a visa. They must obtain a long-term pass on arrival.
  4. An Expatriate eVISA is for those entering Malaysia for professional employment. A long-term pass must be acquired upon arrival.
  5. A Foreign Worker eVISA allows temporary employment. A long-term pass is required upon arrival.
  6. Applicants under 12 must upload their birth certificate.
  7. Violating Malaysian law can lead to criminal and administrative actions. Employment or schooling during the stay is not allowed without authorization.
  8. A Single Entry Visa (SEV) is valid for a single journey within 6 months of issuance. For foreign workers, it’s valid for 3 months.
  9. A Multiple Entry Visa (MEV) is valid for multiple journeys within 6 months. Each stay is limited to 30 days.
  10. Applicants must present valid documents at the entry point, including:
    • Passport
    • eVISA printout
    • Boarding pass
    • Return ticket (if required)
    • Paid accommodation
    • Supporting documents like bank statements or visa copies
  11. are evaluated on individual merit. Embassy or Consulate may ask for additional information at any stage. Submission does not guarantee approval. Applicants must have a valid eVISA before traveling.
  12. Uploaded documents must be clear and meet the specifications. Failure to do can lead to rejection.
  13. Applicants will-be notified via email within 2 working days after complete submission and payment. This excludes weekends, holidays, and unexpected events.
  14. Approval decisions will-be sent by email and may include:
    • Approved: eVISA granted.
    • Rejected: eVISA denied.
    • Request for Documents: More documents are required.
    • Request for Interview: An online or in-person interview is required.

  15. Applicants must upload the requested documents immediately. The processing time restarts once documents are submitted.
  16. Interview requests must be completed as scheduled to avoid delays.
  17. eVISA approval does not guarantee entry to Malaysia. Immigration officers have final discretion. MYVISA is not liable for visa denials at entry points.
  18. MYVISA is not involved in visa decisions. The High Commission or Consulate makes final visa assessments based on Malaysian law.
  19. Applicants must apply for eVISAs in advance. MYVISA is not responsible for travel delays due to late applications.
  20. Inquiries to MYVISA are based on limited information and do not guarantee results or promises.
  21. Applicants must ensure all information is accurate. If errors require a new application, the applicant must re-apply and pay again.
  22. MYVISA is not liable for any indirect losses or damages, including lost profits, business interruptions, or goodwill.
  23. All fees are non-refundable.
  24. The Government of Malaysia may change these terms without notice. Applicants dissatisfied with changes may refuse services.
